Knifemaker Biography

I live in Saint-Sauveur, Laurentides, located in Quebec in the North of Montreal.

I’ve always been passionate by arts and creativity. I started creating my knives in 1989. My mentor, who helped me in my debuts, was the well known Jacques Jobin. With his help and the knife magazines, I managed to do pretty good knives which were far from perfect.

It was a hobby for me and as time passed, I got better at it and learned how much of a creative spirit I had.

I met other cutlers which also gave me some of their insights to get even better. Their names are Jean-Yves Bourbeau and Gaetan Beauchamp.

In 2016, I did a trip to Corsia to visit the talented Alexandre Musso to learn other techniques of forge that helped me grew.

In 2018, I did another trip, this time in Argentina, to see Mauricio Daletsky, a specialist in Damascus Feather. I spent 2 weeks with him and learned the Damascus steels forge techniques. Mauricio became a good friend and we met several times afterwards during knives shows in USA. I’m planning to visit him once more to learn other techniques.

After all I’ve learned over the years, I started to make more serious projects. I started to do more prestigious shows such as the Paris Sicac, the Blade Show, the Nashville Show. This year, to my surprise, i got invited to the Arts in Metal of New York and also the Solvang in California. Furthermore, in 2024 I’ll be back to the Nashville Custom Knife Show and the Blade Show of Atlanta.

While writing this, I’m currently on the way to do an improvement class for one week about folding knives with the amazing Tony Baker in Oklahoma. I’m eager to create unique folding knives with my own style and creativity.
