A unique weekend with the best knifemakers in the world.
FAQ
What is an open bid?
In an open bid, the knifemaker sets a starting price and then collectors write down their bids consecutively, each bid outbidding the last bid. The highest bidder, which would be the last bidder, is the winner. It is open because other collectors can see all the previous bids made.
What is a silent bid?
In a silent bid, the knifemaker sets a starting price and then collectors write down a bid on a slip of paper and add it to a box (or another closed vessel). The knifemaker then goes through each slip of paper to find the highest bid and that collector is the winner. It is silent because collectors cannot see the bids that other collectors have placed.
What if I win a lottery and do not wish to purchase the knife?
No problem! If you do not wish to purchase a knife you were drawn for, you can decline and another winner will be selected.
